Dr. Heike Thiel de Bocanegra’s research interest focus on community-based research and evaluation of programs aimed to access to primary and women’s health care and the translation of evidence-based practices into clinical care. She was director of the UCSF evaluation of California’s Family Planning, Access, Care, and Treatment (Family PACT) program for 12 years and is currently Co-PI of a contract with the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commissionto evaluate the impact of the Mental Health Services Act (Prop. 63) through analysis of administrative data and data linkages. She is principal investigator of the multi-campus California Refugee Reproductive Health network which engages Afghan, Syrian, Iraqi and East African refugees in reproductive health research and policy.
At UCI, she works with faculty members on health service research projects (link to: https://www.obgyn.uci.edu/health-services-research/index.asp) which engage UCI undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in research and interventions.
